Hello! My name is Ryan, I had come across this forum when doing some research for some flight helmet parts, and I'm so grateful I get to be a part of it now.

I had been interested in military history for a long time, learning and collecting pieces here and there, visiting museum after museum, seeing airshow after airshow, and airsoft game after airsoft game. During middle school, the idea of aviation really caught onto me, and I've been trying to learn and see as many cool things about it as I can, including starting a collection of flight helmets and gear, which has made me only want to fly as soon as I can really. I even work at a Vietnam War museum as a curator/tour guide and get to experience and maintain that history every week.

My father was a Marine, so growing up and seeing him in his uniform always inspired me to sort of pursue the same thing (although, his job in the Corps was probably a bit more important than flying). My uncle was in the Marines along side my father, but after he got out, he pursued a career in aviation, and now currently flies commercial jets for American, which sparks conversations time after time about aviation, and only fuels the fire for me to want to get in the air.

I look forward to learning as much as I can from you guys, so I can expand my mind and my collection. Thank you very much!

hello Ryan,

Welcome to the forum.  This is a great source to see other items and to learn about them.  I collect many things, but WWII aviation is something I do chase.  I focus on WWII wings and 8th AF items.  I can say WWII USMC items have been and likely always will be a good investment.  You will have to spend a pretty penny though.  I personally like the Corsair and wish my pockets were deep enough to chase groups related to the Corsair.

Anyway, good luck with collecting and your future endeavors.  Cheers!
