Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #76 Posted November 22, 2007 Here is my other 26th ID helmet. 102 Field Artillery Battalion. Made a trade for this one.
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #77 Posted November 22, 2007 Here is my last one. The 102nd Infantry Regiment. I noticed on someone else's earlier post there is one just like this one only better color. This one is dark. I have scene one other of this style and they all have to have been painted by the same soldier. What do you think?
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #78 Posted November 22, 2007 This one came from the world's best garage sale. Not sure if the captains bar where orginially on the helmet but the patch is good. 91st ID.
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #79 Posted November 22, 2007 Everyone has a 77th ID so I thought I would add mine.
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #80 Posted November 22, 2007 Here is my 33rd ID the patch is only a little bigger than 1" in diameter.
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #81 Posted November 22, 2007 This helmet I purchased last year. It is dark and hard to read but above the crossed cannons it has 127 and below the cannons it has HQ. The 127 Field Artillery Regiment was part of the 35th ID in WW1.
Bones Posted November 22, 2007 #82 Posted November 22, 2007 This helmet appears to have a sawdust finish to it. No patch but I included it.
Bank Vault Posted November 24, 2007 #83 Posted November 24, 2007 Heres my only painted one, I hope to buy a few more painted helmets on my buying trip soon that some of you are aware of!
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #84 Posted November 26, 2007 Here is my 6th ID, hope it shows up good.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #85 Posted November 26, 2007 This helmet came with a 32nd ID gas mask pouch.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #86 Posted November 26, 2007 I have had this camo for some time. Very colorful and nicely done.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #87 Posted November 26, 2007 Here is my 3rd ID. It is small maybe 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #88 Posted November 26, 2007 Here is another camo helmet. It is kind of dark but you can still see the colors.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #89 Posted November 26, 2007 This camo 87th ID came in the world's best garage sale. Only one I have scene in these colors.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #90 Posted November 26, 2007 This 34th ID helmet is what they call a diary helmet. The different locations are scratched into the white paint on the brim of the helmet. This came out of an antique mall.
Bones Posted November 26, 2007 #91 Posted November 26, 2007 The location right under the insignia is Camp Cody, next is Liverpool, and the last is France. The background of the insignia is dark blue, not black.
GIKyle Posted November 27, 2007 #92 Posted November 27, 2007 Here's my 1st ID I've had for a couple years.
Bones Posted November 29, 2007 #93 Posted November 29, 2007 I don't have any of those high dollar USMC painted helmets but here are a few 2nd ID helmets that I do have. The first belonged to a veteran in the 23rd Infantry Regiment of the 2nd ID.
Bones Posted November 29, 2007 #94 Posted November 29, 2007 This belonged to a man in the 17th Field Artillery Regiment of the 2nd ID.
Shenkursk Posted November 29, 2007 #95 Posted November 29, 2007 Here is my one and only camo helmet. 34th Division with arrow on left side. Very close to relic condition. Take a close look - that is a very interesting helmet! Has a 34th Division insignia on the front, and an 89th Division Engineer insignia on the side.
Bones Posted December 2, 2007 #96 Posted December 2, 2007 This brings us to the last of my helmets. They are all from the 89th ID which was a National Army Division which means they were full of draftees from all over Nebraska and Kansas. The first one is my newest purchase. This helmet was from a member of the 314th Motor Transportation Train.
Bones Posted December 2, 2007 #97 Posted December 2, 2007 From one of the infantry regiments of the 89th ID.
Bones Posted December 2, 2007 #98 Posted December 2, 2007 From one of the other infantry regiments of the 89th ID.
Bones Posted December 2, 2007 #99 Posted December 2, 2007 This helmet belonged to a machine gunner from one of the machine battalions of the 89th ID.
Bones Posted December 2, 2007 #100 Posted December 2, 2007 This helmet belonged to a member of the 164th Field Artillery Regiment of the 89th ID. It is oversize compared to the other ones pictured. Lets keep this thread going with more nice painted WW1 helmets.
