Pbaczuk Posted April 16, 2021 Share #826 Posted April 16, 2021 The helmet belonged to Jimy Ferraro of the 313th Machine Gun Bn, Company D.
Oregon1911 Posted April 17, 2021 Share #827 Posted April 17, 2021 My friend, Tom Kibler, bought this at some past SOS. Turns out Tom has a good eye. 🧐 Helmet has wire laced through on chinstrap bail mount so as to hang it from wherever it was hanging. Thanks, Tom. Pbaczuk Posted May 29, 2021 Share #829 Posted May 29, 2021 Here is a rare one. This division saw little to no combat in France in 1918. In fact, 5,000 of it’s members were in Siberia, of all places. This is a English made helmet.

GLCC74 Posted August 27, 2021 Share #845 Posted August 27, 2021 I just checked the helmet, no ID, only thing visible is a sloppy painted "1918 . 19"
GLCC74 Posted August 27, 2021 Share #846 Posted August 27, 2021 The rims were sanded by pervious owners I presume to see the heat stamps. When I get them, I use talcum powder to see them and not sand it down.
AustinO Posted August 27, 2021 Share #847 Posted August 27, 2021 Not my latest but one from earlier this year, the 42nd painted helmet in my US WWI collection. A part of an IDd grouping gifted to a friend from the vet in the 70s which then came to me. 326th Inf 82nd Div WIA, nice complete British Brodies. The colors on it are a bit garish, but in comparing it to another 326th I have - all of the same colors are used.
Radio Operator Posted August 27, 2021 Share #848 Posted August 27, 2021 Here's another one from the 89th infantry division. The blue in the center could mean 177th or 178th infantry, but I have not had any luck finding the original owner J.D. Waying. There are two division insignia painted on the side of the helmet.
