Is anyone familiar with a club, association or group for AEF Painted Helmets? This seems to be the best I can find. If not, is there any interest to start something and raise awareness and interest in this historical treasures??? Seems to be a very under appreciated nitch. I also think some type of group blog would be great to talk about fakes/counterfeits. They're out there and they are very good.

Here is a cut out section of soldier who served as a Corporal in Battery B, 47th Artillery CAC. Wouldn't you like to own that helmet....

I have been able to ID the soldier with the Painted helmet from Battery B, 47th Artillery CAC. His name was Clarence R. Gilchrist and he is listed as the Battery's 1st SGT, although it only looks like a Corporal rank on his sleeve...

Dirtyshirt

This Helmet has the "Sight Seeing 6th ID" insignia, unfortunately the liner is missing, otherwise a neat helmet.
