Boz99 Posted October 24, 2025 #1 Posted October 24, 2025 Any information on this Boyt appreciated, wartime, postwar? I’ve been unable to get a definitive answer on this one. -Thanks
doyler Posted October 24, 2025 #2 Posted October 24, 2025 Not war time. Civilian sling Later BOYT factory Marking. Another clue its not War time is the war time issue M1907 slings had three rivets on the adjusting hooks and commercial slings have 2 rivets. BOYT still makes or offers a 1907 pattern sling. I had a couple NOS ones with tags a couple years ago that were made in the 60s or 70s and same logo. This said the slings could be purchased and used for competition shoots and are good quality. Would work well on a Garand or M1a1/M14.
Charlie Flick Posted November 3, 2025 #3 Posted November 3, 2025 Doyler is correct. The easy giveaway that it is a post-war sling is the use of the oval shaped Boyt logo which did not come into being until after the War. The double hooks on this one are also of a slightly different shape as compared to those on USGI slings. Regards, Charlie
doyler Posted November 3, 2025 #4 Posted November 3, 2025 One of the BOYT slings I have, This is 1944 dated. Have 42,43 and 44 dates. Have yet to see a 45 dated. Steel hooks. Standard 3 rivet for the hooks.
Boz99 Posted November 3, 2025 Author #5 Posted November 3, 2025 Thank you both for the replies. Right after posting I found an article mentioning the 2 rivet design, since picked up a 44 Milsco.
