New member from Northern NY

Hey all. Excited to join this community after gleaning useful information from it for quite some time. My main militaria interest is the collection of US small arms and in particular rifles and carbines. So far my collection consists of a 1943 Springfield production M1 Garand, a 1943 National Postal Meter M1 Carbine, and I recently acquired a 1906 Rock Island produced Springfield 1903. I have some of the accessories for these rifles as well 

 

The acquisition of the 1903 is what has finally led me to join the forum and I will be posting about it soon in the hopes of gathering more information about its history.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I’m was born and grew up in Utica. But I’ve been here in California for 40+ years now. I was just back there for a visit in August. 
I have no mechanical or gunsmith skills but recently put together a wall hanger Garand from scrap parts. It was a fun project. 
This forum is a great place. I hope you enjoy your time here.
