New Member from Hampton Roads

Hello everyone! Glad to be a part of the forum. My collecting interests are mainly milsurps (especially WW1-era rifles) along with functional web gear (dismounted cartridge belts and the like). I've recently been gifted a good amount of seemingly Vietnam-era Army Aviator items from the estate of an Army O6 by his daughter, since the alternative was watching it go into the trash.

 

This is NOT my area of expertise, and I look forward to learning more about what was saved from the experts here. Here are a couple of pictures - will try to find the correct subforums to post upon.

Welcome to the forum KingsPointer!  I share your interest in WW1 rifles(and about everything else WW1!). I lived for 1 year in Hampton Roads and went to Kecoughtan H.S. my sophomore year. My Dad was Air Force and retired at Langley in 1968! Some time ago for sure.  I can't offer any help for the aviation items you have. You may want to research the person's military record for what you have from him. I'm sure someone here will be able to help more on that. Post the WW1 items you have here too, I might be more help on them. Thanks,

Welcome to the USMF. It’s a great place to hang out, share and learn. 
You should definitely post your US WWI items here. That war is sadly underrepresented on the forum. 
If you haven’t already, join up on our sister site, the worldmilitaryforum.com if you haven’t already, to post about any non-US pieces.

Hey Mikie! Thanks for the welcome - will try to get pictures of what little U.S. WW1 gear I've got and post it up for the group. Thanks for the heads-up re: worldmilitaryforum, there's certainly more gear that I could contribute over there for Norway and Denmark.
