sigsaye Posted October 11, 2025 #27 Posted October 11, 2025 Saw this on eBay this morning, under US Navy life Jackets. It’s 1973 dated. No markings.

sigsaye Posted October 22, 2025 #32 Posted October 22, 2025 This is the type of scull cap we wore between flight ops. This “Ellie Op” is wearing one due to the headset for his sound powered phones.
Victorp Posted November 2, 2025 Author #33 Posted November 2, 2025 Ok so here is what I have for next week’s Veterans Day display. I hope everyone enjoys the photo
DD937 Posted November 2, 2025 #34 Posted November 2, 2025 Looks good to me for 67-69 double check the photos for tucking the trousers into the socks ( that may be a Damage Control thing) good luck if your are going to continue on looking for the early float coat. Could you post a picture of the Stock number of the hearing protection?
Victorp Posted November 2, 2025 Author #35 Posted November 2, 2025 Thanks, that’s the era I was going for. Here is the stock info for the hearing protection. Unfortunately I am not able to get the shorter navy boots in time, so I had to substitute a pair of McNamara boots in their place for now. I will be displaying this setup again in March and will definitely have them by then.
DD937 Posted November 2, 2025 #36 Posted November 2, 2025 Thank you, the newer (Tan colored) head piece will not fit into the helmet as it is wider than the black ones.
Armygas Posted March 25 #37 Posted March 25 Victorp This was a great post that got some real good input from guys who lived the life on deck. I have a 'Grape' set up only missing boots, this is my USN portion of my POL collection. Have you found boots for your man and if so could you please share a photo of them? I also watched the youtube link of the Kittyhawk in Tolkin Gulf, that was fantastic to see all the uniform variations. Would like to see photos of your recent display if available. Cheers, Armygas
Victorp Posted March 25 Author #38 Posted March 25 Thanks for the compliment. I have seen plenty of the navy boots on eBay, but haven’t pulled the trigger on any yet. I haven’t set up the display yet, it’s going to be on March 31st to celebrate Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day at my kids high school. As soon as it’s set up, I will post some photos.
Victorp Posted March 31 Author #39 Posted March 31 So today I gay to take part in our high school’s Vietnam Veterans Day celebration. Here are some photos. The flight deck uniform displayed well. I was able to find another color jersey and helmet that was in better condition. I hope you enjoy the photos.
Armygas Posted April 1 #42 Posted April 1 Thanks for posting photos of the display and Navy crew member, I see he has boots on! A well done layout of Vietnam era gear, with items from each branch of service and the NVA. I did chuckle over how many items I also had on display that were the same, I will try to post a few pics soon. Great effort, keep up the good work, our Vietnam Veterans deserve this kind of recognition and tribute. Cheers, Armygas
