curioandrelic Posted September 25, 2025 #1 Posted September 25, 2025 In an effort to keep my physical "stuff" under control, I have been doing a lot of collecting of "digital" Militaria. (don't worry, I still have a good assortment of the real thing) I have a non-commercial website that I am hosting that might be of interest here. https://curioandrelic.com I've got photos of military museums and displays, old documents, a searchable collection of photos, an online Enigma machine simulator, and an archive of about 500 military manuals in PDF form. Take a look, let me know what you think. I'm also working on 3d printing of replica munitions and have a pretty decent life size model of a Japanese Type 89 knee mortar and would love to chat with someone who has access to a real one to improve my model.
javimetal Posted October 20, 2025 #2 Posted October 20, 2025 Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your contribution to that website. I've been looking around. It has a lot of information and manuals. It seems very interesting. Best regards
hardstripe Posted October 20, 2025 #3 Posted October 20, 2025 Very interesting website loaded with excellent information. Nice Work!
ShibaLegend Posted October 20, 2025 #4 Posted October 20, 2025 Very cool. It would be an amazing resource to have every numbered tech manual in one place, yours is a good start.
ludwigh1980 Posted October 21, 2025 #5 Posted October 21, 2025 I prefer pre-m81 (woodland) myself.....

JohnK83882 Posted October 21, 2025 #7 Posted October 21, 2025 Internet archive has a lot of manuals and guides posted. https://archive.org/details/1941PatchKingPage001_201604/Page 006.jpg The United States Army In World War II is a nice book set but more handy in pdf format.

Scott That would be great. Jackson Michigan isn't too far from me. If I came up, would it be possible for me to take measurements of the Type 89? Are you associated with the museum yourself? Andy Welter.
ScottG Posted October 23, 2025 #9 Posted October 23, 2025 Hi Andy, yes you could get measurements and photos and I am the founder and current Board Chairman. I am at the museum on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11-5. You can also reach me at mmhminfo2020@gmail.com Scott
