A recent transplant to AZ from Washington State. I did 5 tours during the GWOT era on small deployable anti terrorism teams. Have always been a fan of history and find myself using it as a healthy way to learn/cope with the stressors of life. Come from a multiple generation military family that never passed on any positive memories or heirlooms from service. I regularly source and archive special pieces from conflict that will be passed down to the little ones. Look forward to connecting with all you wonderful folks.

Very Respectfully,

Brent

Hello Brent,  Welcome to the best military forum on the internet!  First off, thank you and your family for your service.  I know we all share that sentiment here on the forum.  Congratulations on moving to the great state of Arizona.  Of course I'm somewhat bias as I lived in Flagstaff for most of my childhood until I joined the Air Force.  Also, I was born in Tempe although I don't remember that, ha.  I live in Oklahoma City as that's where my wife's parents lived, so that's where I live.  Plus it's where I met my wife while I was stationed at USAF Hospital Tinker.  I think I can call myself an "Okie" at this point as I've lived here 37 years.  I believe you'll find hours and hours of military stories, items, etc. to view here on the forum.  So much so, that I don't believe you'll ever be able to view everything, but that's a good thing.  That's so awesome that you are saving specials pieces of your military service to pass down to the next generation/s.  It's obviously unfortunate that your military family member never did the same for you, however, given the proper starting information such as a name and anything else there is that you know of on a military family member, you can find out quite a bit of information on you own and/or request assistance.  I might suggest looking at NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS and later on at the INDIVIDUAL AND UNIT RESEARCH areas.  in the Individual and Unit Research there is information on websites that you can utilize to conduct research on your military family members.  Of course, feel free to peruse the entire forum at your leisure.  Thank you for becoming a forum member and ENJOY!!!!  -- Matt/aznation
