Hello all,

I have a good sized WWII collection and am struck with the problem of how to display it. I am looking for a case similar to that of the National WWII Museum, while also being on the cheaper scale. I know that most cases are expensive, but if anybody has any info it will be greatly appreciated

thanks

Craigslist is a good place as is Facebook Marketplace....also check for local store closings (and not just retail and jewelry stores)...those sometimes yield cases and mannequins. Antique malls sometimes sell cases....also check with your local auction house /  dealer.

I’ve been using IKEA cases for a long time.  Large, clear glass museum cases are grotesquely expensive. The IKEA ones I use are reasonably priced, fit together beautifully and come in a variety that works for me.

The MILSBO and RUDSTA each come in two sizes as well as black or white.  I find the black to be less distracting.

I use LED lighting strips from Amazon to illuminate the interiors and spray the insides of the backs and top to spread the light.

PM me your email and I’ll show you how they look with collection items in them.

How about you show us all?  Always looking for good ideas and enjoy seeing what others collect and how they display it.

Thx,  Lance

This store is in Kansas City. They have an amazing selection of retail store fixtures, shelving and other display options. There is a variety of prices and sizes to choose from.

Over the past year or two I have managed to pick up high quality display cabinets from vape shops that are forever opening and closing stores, they often have good quality lighting already fitted in them too. More often or not, these things end up in a skip after a company has dissolved so its worth asking a store manager/owner about them.
