atb Posted September 7, 2025 #2 Posted September 7, 2025 The equipment marking tags came into use in 1919. It was used to identify equipment to individual enlisted soldiers.

I shy away from those because both blank ones and authentic stamping kits are available but this one looks legit, still does so just the time period is not 1916. Bummer...still a good grouping.
atb Posted September 7, 2025 #4 Posted September 7, 2025 Somewhere on the forum is a contemporary Army drawing of the M1919 equipment marking tags.

Retired Army Noncom Posted September 11, 2025 Author #6 Posted September 11, 2025 It's not K Troop...the holster had a luger block put in it.

DD937 Posted September 20, 2025 #9 Posted September 20, 2025 In my honest but uneducated opinion all that tag says is that the first aid pouch and or the entire rig was in 11th Cav inventory when the tagging system was instituted, I haven't seen the instruction but the stamping of Cav is redundant but the guy charged with marking the equipment in inventory may have been a bit dense. I have a 1918 canteen cover with a tag stamped 101 on an infantry tag. So my knowledge is limited but these seem to be things to consider.
