Copper colored WW1 Army button

Seen a few of these Army buttons with a Marine Corps button finish. Don't know where they were used or if it was just one manufacturing run from one company using whatever they had on hand. This has a City Button Works backmark.

This web page says, "If the button is made of bronze (looking like a penny made before 1963), it will often be presumed to be made before World War II."

Just got the Directory of American Military Goods Dealers and Makers and it says City Button Works military buttons are WW1.
