Blacksmith Posted August 20, 2025 #1 Posted August 20, 2025 I’ve had a number of Combat Infantry Badges over the years - mainly WWII. All of them were marked in some way - “Sterling”, maker marked, etc. I recently found this one, which is not marked at all. It does not appear to be silver. I was wondering if anybody had an idea if this was foreign-made, or maybe something else. There were clutches on it when found, but they were the modern white plastic ones. Thank you in advance.
Tonomachi Posted August 21, 2025 #2 Posted August 21, 2025 This is a South Vietnamese made stamping based on the style of pins, the way they are attached, the plastic clutches you say it came with and the sloppy hand painted blue on the front. I have attached photos of another and besides the oxidization of the metal on the back they look pretty similar. A keeper. Now you need to find the South Vietnamese made sand cast version of the US CIB.
