The Rooster Posted August 19, 2025 #27 Posted August 19, 2025 Heres something else thats cool about the series Combat.... The entire series all episodes all seasons are on youtube. No commercials.
P-59A Posted August 19, 2025 Author #28 Posted August 19, 2025 This is a good link. It will jog your memory. https://www.jeffs60s.com/combat-tv-show.html
P-59A Posted August 19, 2025 Author #29 Posted August 19, 2025 I learned something new to me. In season 1 episode 1 "Forgotten Front" Morrow's cover is a cut parachute, not a USMC cover.

What red-blooded American boy in the 60s didn't watch Combat? From the 1980s to the early 2000s, going up to the "Wine Country" was a favorite weekend trip, particularly Russian River area and what back then was more off the beaten tourist path of Napa. The Hop Kiln tasting room back then used to have a few photos of the Hollywood productions filmed there, including Combat. Sadly, that winery was sold in 2003, about the time I stopped going to "Wine Country". Nothing good lasts forever. In fact, here's the whole episode filmed at Hop Kiln in 1966 or 67, "Olly Joe", one of my favorites. http://www.steveandmarta.com/california_trip/combat1966.htm Aerialbridge, Send a DM.

KurtA Posted September 21, 2025 #37 Posted September 21, 2025 Great thread. This show started me in collecting. My dream was to get a German helmet. Couldn’t afford the $25 they were always priced at back in the mid 1960’s. Luckily my uncle gave me one he brought back. First thing I ever bought for my collection was a metal AAF helmet with ear flaps. Saw it in the window of a NYC used electronics store. Was either 50 cents or 75 cents. I still have it. But, the back has the residue and loss of flocking where I put an 8 inch strip of white first aid tape. I wanted my helmet to look like Lt Hanley’s helmet with the white leadership stripe.
