Hello Once Again,

I recently acquired this named PH, which unfortunately is not numbered. So I am assuming that it was possibly awarded late in WWII? or is this not the case? What is your take on its age, and if this was posthumously awarded by its engraving? I purchased it from a friend who wasn't sure if he acquired it in Pa. or in Maine, where he lives most of the time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will add additional photos if needed. Thanks, Kent

Yes,

I did find this information. However, I didn't want to jump the gun thinking that this is most definitely "the" Lowell F. Simmons. The reason I say this is because the medal doesn't have his rank, which I would think that they would have put on this PH, or am I incorrect? I am attaching two more photos to view.

That is an officially engraved small machine engraved PH from WWII. I am sure its him.

I did not find an Air Medal card for him, so the PH was most likely his only award.

No rank on officially named Army PH’s.    Yours is just the way it should be.

Thanks guys for all of your info, it is greatly appreciated. I am surprised that he didn't qualify for at least an Air Medal.
