muddyboots Posted August 16, 2025 #1 Posted August 16, 2025 I picked this up recently and thought I would share it. I haven't been collecting these for long and I have seen variants, so I would love to hear your thoughts on this one.
KurtA Posted August 16, 2025 #2 Posted August 16, 2025 Nice early pre WW2 example with open hook clasp, thin anchor and fouled rope rather than chain.

What got my attention was how the rope was attached. It's shaped very nicely at the top, and it's attached behind the anchor at the bottom, a setup that I don't recall seeing before. Thank you for your help.
QED4 Posted August 18, 2025 #4 Posted August 18, 2025 Keep in mind that these early one were hand soldered by many different people and you will find lots of variation in the shape of the rope or chain depending on who did it and their skill level. Plus there are the ones that were done about 4:00PM on Friday when they just wanted to go home.
