artem77721 Posted August 15, 2025 #1 Posted August 15, 2025 Hi guys, I really need your help in identifying this naval button. I would be very grateful to you. Best regards, Artem
DD937 Posted August 15, 2025 #2 Posted August 15, 2025 Looks European, have you googled the back Mark name?
artem77721 Posted August 15, 2025 Author #4 Posted August 15, 2025 I tried Googling this — it’s either Swedish or German, I’m not sure exactly. Maybe someone has a similar button. BR Artem
Helodoc2 Posted September 25, 2025 #5 Posted September 25, 2025 I certainly may be wrong, but that "& cie" looks French or Belgian.
JohnK83882 Posted November 16, 2025 #6 Posted November 16, 2025 German backmark I think. Can't find anything so far on the naval crest but I know the British buttons have several different crowns on them so it could be for the royal yacht crew for one of the royal family of some country.
JohnK83882 Posted November 16, 2025 #7 Posted November 16, 2025 Gustav Branscheid und Co., Lüdenscheid is coming up in a list of German manufacturers of bakelite buttons for 1938. (Liste der Presswerk-Codes der Materialprüfungsanstalt, Stand: 31. Dezember 1938) - https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/field-equipment-accessories-third-reich/bakelite-makers-code-markings-828/ Which you already know because I found another bulletin board where you posted your button. Doesn't mean the button's for a German naval group, just manufactured it.
