Need some help for HGU-39/p refurbishment

Hello everyone!

 

Yesterday I bought an HGU-39/p which was used by actor Gregory J. Qaiyum (GQ) in the movie Rescue Dawn (2006). The name of his character, Farkas, is written on the front of the helmet. Overall it is in good condition, the only things that are missing are the foam inserts for the earcups (which i´ve already bought) and one of the earseals. My question is, are the earseals for the CVC DH-132 tanker helmet the same ones used in Gentex flight helmets? My gut is telling they are essentially the same but, I wanna know for sure

before I buy two of them.

I´m also thinking about doing more then just putting it back together but I´m not sure yet.

That’s a great looking helmet to be honest….

 

If it’s the same helmet as used in the movie, I’d leave it alone.. 39/Ps are a dime a dozen if you’re looking for a project.. just my 2 cents..
