G-Company Posted July 11, 2025 #1 Posted July 11, 2025 These items came with some recently acquired pouches and where found inside one of them. I hink, what i have here a some internal gun parts but from which type? Would appreciate some help , with identifying these, thank you in advance.
M1Garandy Posted July 11, 2025 #3 Posted July 11, 2025 I see a Garand lockbar elevation pinion, and M1 Carbine hammer spring plunger, what looks to be the sear from a Mauser type rifle, the catch button for a Garand/Springfield bayonet, a couple of parts I recognize but can't place and some stuff I have no idea on.
G-Company Posted July 11, 2025 Author #4 Posted July 11, 2025 Hello 72psb. I have compared these parts with the parts of a garand and of a carbine, the butt plate screws for example are different ones then on one of these rifles. The other parts on the pictures are as far as i know not similiar to any garand or carbine part…i’d like to know which rifle or revolver they belong to..
G-Company Posted July 11, 2025 Author #5 Posted July 11, 2025 @M1Garandy; Thank you. The Hammer Plunger for the carbine i did not notice before as part off…👍🏼 Sear mauser 👍🏼 Catch button 👍🏼, but has a gold like finisch on it….never saw a gold one on a standard bayonet? The elevation pinion looks like one of a garand but then again is does not.. The windage knob of the pimion has no markings whatsoever and the knob is flat (the checkered pattern is only located on the outside not on top). Is this an older version pinion?
M1Garandy Posted July 11, 2025 #6 Posted July 11, 2025 I presume the bayonet catch was plated for parade usage etc. Thats the second type elevation pinion used with the TII/TIII lockbar rear sight. It is just the bare pinion. No elevation cap or cap screw is present.
ordnance Posted July 12, 2025 #7 Posted July 12, 2025 The sight with the dovetailed blade in the center of the photo is the folding top half of a 1919A4 front sight assembly.
