Mike Bilbo Posted June 17, 2025 #1 Posted June 17, 2025 I'm hoping to find an M1926 tunic, two pre-WWII Organized Reserve 103rd Division Patches and two collar discs with the letters "SCS," (Soil Conservation Service). I'm developing a living history impression of an Organized Reserve CCC Camp Commander in a camp sponsored by the SCS (Camp 836/SCS-6, across a small valley from Fort Stanton, New Mexico) The pre-war 103rd Division patches have a bright yellow sunset background and saguaro cactus with extended arms, as opposed to WWII and after gold background and compact saguaro. Thus, I'm asking members of which vendors would be most likely to carry these items, and or that I should periodically check?
eaglerunner88 Posted June 21, 2025 #2 Posted June 21, 2025 Well you're best bet for the collar disks are a reproduction set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284659807434
Remark Posted August 17, 2025 #3 Posted August 17, 2025 Original CCC and SCS turn up fairly regularly on eBay, but you still have to be patient. I have only seen 1 SCS design, but I have seen about 5 or 6 different CCC variations. The most unique one is the CCC with a pine tree behind it. I have also seen a similar ECW disc with a pine tree behind it. Camp numbers appear to be very rare. They could be either on a second disc or under the CCC letters. I have only seen a couple in the last 3 years. Attached is a picture of mine.

I don't know what M stands for but Scipio's The Collar Disc Story thinks it might be related to a San Francisco Supply Depot TVA is Tennessee Valley Authority which was a New Deal creation that still exists. VIS is Veterinarian Inspection Service. I far as I can tell its purpose was to inspect animals that were going to the military for consumption by the troops. So it may be quartermaster related too.
kiaiokalewa Posted August 17, 2025 #8 Posted August 17, 2025 Are we talking about stuff like this. I'll look in the pile of collar discs for a SCS might have it too.
kiaiokalewa Posted August 17, 2025 #9 Posted August 17, 2025 Heres the link covering various interwar uniforms in the pinned section of this Interwar thread.
OD-Blue-Top Posted August 18, 2025 #10 Posted August 18, 2025 kiaiokalewa, I really enjoy your posts featuring the inter-war uniforms. These uniforms are among my favorites in my army uniform collection.
