Found this several years ago at an antique store. I’ve never been able to find any pics of a similar one. Was it common for them to paint their squadron's insignia on the helmets?

Maybe not common but they used to paint it on the helmet

Its a H3 helmet  ( usn and USMC ) used during thé beginning of thé 1950 Years (Korean war )

312 flew the F-4 Corsair during Korea. Did they ever used oxygen masks?

There are thé leather tabs for the oxygen mask on your H3.

But i don 't see oxygen mask on corsair pilot photos during thé Korean war .

Maybe only ground attack and straffing missions ?
