MilNut Posted June 10, 2025 #1 Posted June 10, 2025 Found this several years ago at an antique store. I’ve never been able to find any pics of a similar one. Was it common for them to paint their squadron's insignia on the helmets?
adda91 Posted June 10, 2025 #3 Posted June 10, 2025 Hello . Maybe not common but they used to paint it on the helmet VF 53 cva 47 in 1954 cruise book Arnaud
adda91 Posted June 10, 2025 #5 Posted June 10, 2025 Its a H3 helmet ( usn and USMC ) used during thé beginning of thé 1950 Years (Korean war )
MilNut Posted June 11, 2025 Author #6 Posted June 11, 2025 Adda91, Thanks. I meant H-3. My fingers move faster than my brain sometimes 😜
MilNut Posted June 14, 2025 Author #7 Posted June 14, 2025 312 flew the F-4 Corsair during Korea. Did they ever used oxygen masks?
adda91 Posted June 14, 2025 #8 Posted June 14, 2025 There are thé leather tabs for the oxygen mask on your H3. But i don 't see oxygen mask on corsair pilot photos during thé Korean war . Maybe only ground attack and straffing missions ?
