Hi All,

there is my beo gam shirt

post-4070-1225205816.jpg

Note the direct embroidered collar insignia and the Vietnamese silk woven US Army tab.

The name tab was removed unfortunately!

There is a close up view from the A-L stamped size tag.

I have no idea what the hand-stitched 2A means its maybe a kind of laundry mark ?

Not sure if these have been posted already, but as mentioned in another thread Life Magazine has recently posted several thousand photos from their archives on the internet.

When you search their site, put in your "keyword" in the search box but make sure you include "source:Life".

Here's a couple examples. (A couple of these feature Cpt. Vernon Gillespie Jr., November 1964)

Hi all

Well I havd a good couple of days hunting around for booty .

I have been working in the mills and found a ton of stuff mostly Vietnam related and other war stuff ,but I did come upon these 3 different BEO pieces .

Firet up is a well used shirt with the single bust of gloty buttons that has had its sleeces cut by orginal owner .

It also has his last 4 numbers of the SS # to ths inside .

I love the mature fade on this piece .

Here you can see the SS # and the damage to the front section .

Breast pocket showing a classic fade due to the low qualiry dyes used in the manufacture .

A shot of the pattern as a whole ,showing the fantastic pattern and the stunning colors this pattern can achieve .

Next up is a pair of trousers in a slightly heavy weight fabric .

These have plastic buttons and have 6 pockets .

The pattern is slightly different from the shirt in that some of the shapes are different

A copy of a copy so to speak .

The top front section .

These have a button fly .

The leg and rear pockets have double buttons .

There is also a waist tab

Next up is a pair of trousers cut and turned into a pair of shorts !!!

They have plastic buttons .

Nice classic color and light fade .

Leg pocket .

post-2009-1228502764.jpg

Full shot of the shorts .

I wonder who cut these up ???

Most likley in the States for fun .

Jerome ,

Your new hat is a common hunting type .

In all the vintage clothing stores you can find these .

The material is of a lower quality but fades just like the Nam stuff.

A dead givaway is the little piece of cloth sewn across the front , a typical hunting hat design .

These hats come in all colors and fabrics from Plaid to international orange .

Hello all,

i think these are the exact same cut as those posted by Owen. These also have a plastic button fly, waist tabs and 6 pockets.

They are part of a grouping i own which i plan to post on a separate thread. All the photos have to be resized to fit forum limits which is taking longer than i anticipated.

The rear view shows clearly the fading effects of worn garments that Owen was describing. Note the transition from the deep, deep blues to almost pastel shades.

The rear and the pronounced fade.

Jerome-You might be careful what you ask for. Spike used to be a roadie for Kid Rock when he was dating Pamela Anderson. I don't know how he will get Bigfoot, but......
