Airdog222 Posted May 25, 2025 #1 Posted May 25, 2025 Super heavy plaques (about 4 lbs each) does anyone know what the purpose of these was?
Navy H46 Posted June 12, 2025 #2 Posted June 12, 2025 Nice plaques. Im collecting and permanently displaying plaques like yours at Doherty Navy JROTC “ Hall of Honor”. Google us. Navy H46 Posted June 12, 2025 #3 Posted June 12, 2025 These plaques are given as gifts normally to Officers or Chief Petty Officers after a 2-4 year tour on the ship or sub. They are normally mounted on a wood plaque with a name plate for the person it was given to, These did not have wood plaque??
Airdog222 Posted June 12, 2025 Author #4 Posted June 12, 2025 No, no plaque. They came from a man I believe was involved in decommissioning these vessels. Thank you for the insight, that is a wonderful collection you have going, much respect
