GICOP Posted April 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2007 Hi Dave If it helps here is a list of contents for the ARCTIC FIRST-AID KIT as listed in FM 21-11 FIRST AID FOR SOLDIERS April 7, 1943 The snake bite kit for the JUNGLE FIRST-AID KIT is made by SAUNDERS and I have posted pictures of mine in the Ref section under "Snake bite kits". BEAR Posted April 2, 2007 Share #11 Posted April 2, 2007 Mart,Its not complete[missing some bandages and one or two other bits] but get this.....there is snake bit kit and insect repelant so it looks like they have made 1 set for arctic and jungle for use in both areas Dave. Dave, The insect repellent and snake bite kit may indeed be for the arctic kit. In the summer time the arctic is filled with blood sucking mosquitoes, flies and gnats. One of the requirements for pilot's survival kits in Alaska is insect repellent with 100% DEET. The snake bite kit may be for the infamous rare and deadly "snow snake". BEAR edit: My mistake... the "snow snake" does not kill with its bite.
General Apathy Posted April 2, 2007 Share #12 Posted April 2, 2007 The snake bite kit may be for the infamous rare and deadly "snow snake". BEAR edit: My mistake... the "snow snake" does not kill with its bite. Bilko / Dave, don't worry about the ' snow snake' mentioned above just keep a watch out for those ' one-eyed trouser snakes', they can be deadly. hee hee. Good to see you at the show, and that you were pleased with the grey socks you got from me. Impressed with your medical case and contents I saw it at your stand but didn't guess that it would be so full of the kit. Cheers ( Lewis ) . peter Posted April 6, 2007 Share #16 Posted April 6, 2007 Her a nice AAC grouping i'd like to share with you all: It is a complete named uniform grouping with photoalbum, a bible with rosary, his dogtags and more! Just a quick impression... I'm very happy with this grouping! He was a airplane mechanic and he served in the PTO and the Philipines.
Jeeper704 Posted April 6, 2007 Share #17 Posted April 6, 2007 Great grouping, Peter. As I told you, USAAF is not my field of interest, but I sure can appreciate a grouping like this. Thanks for sharing. Erwin 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion

New Romantic Posted May 22, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 22, 2007 Yes, your last cap is a WWII cap. It's nice you have both variations. The Korean War MQ-1 and M1951 caps do not have the pile on the front bill. Frankie G.
