Picked up this unusual tag, it’s a silver Australian coin. USS IDAHO, P.E Weiss.

Did you find the tag local to you? I found a couple possibles on findagrave. One was born/raised in Indiana and died in Texas or Arizona (can't remember which!) and the other in Pennsylvania.

I bought a coin collection in the Chicago area it was amongst the coins.

Really cool!  The IDAHO was in Australia in late March 1944 before joining the task force for the Saipan invasion.
