Picked up this early training yardlong with M1 Carbines and lots of painted helmets with Hawley lines.

I am still not sure if the are US Army of early USMC paramarines in training.

Photo taken by a studio from Los Angeles, CA. Could be Camp Gallespie or Camp Elliott.

Attached are photos of about 1/2 the yardlong.

Any ideas as to who or what unit it may be from?

some of the ranks on helmets look navy ( the horizontal bars and an inverted chevron). But see Army or USMC style ranks of Sgts stripes also. All seem to hav carbines and makes me think CBs or an amphibious landing party training group??

I’m with Doyler. Those look like Navy guys. CB’s maybe even a Stevedore group.

early rangers/scouts in training? the lighter weapons make me think of a unit that would travel light for those kind of missions. Also, Marines and Navy CB's would have been issued 03's at this time right? definetly an interesting photo.
