Cardinal Patrol Posted April 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2009 I just wanted to share this photograph of my grandfather Richard P. Lehman with his uniform and gas mask. He was in the 322nd Field Artillery in France. They intially were attached to the 83rd Division but were later assigned to the 32nd. Ironically, he was gassed in October of 1918 and received a Purple Heart (nearly 20 years after his death). Does anyone else have other pictures of gas related equipment from the Great War? New Romantic Posted April 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 14, 2009 Cool photo, thanks for posting that! Here's an older topic on gas masks used by the AEF in WWI- http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=3537 In the coming months I plan to start a new post covering the US made masks which will cover them from the first masks made in 1917 through the experimental masks of 1918.
