bldrhouse Posted Monday at 02:38 AM #1 Posted Monday at 02:38 AM Posting here because allegedly happened in America. from a friend: " Russian women were trained in the USA In loading and shooting heavy artillery. I asked my dad one time when I was a young brat when and if he was ever scared during the war? He jokingly told me the only time he was ever frightened was when he was training Russian women in loading and shooting heavy artillery. He said those women were massive and strong, and had no problem loading those heavy artillery shells in the breach. I googled it and it said there was no evidence of such a training program." Anyone?
rathbonemuseum.com Posted Monday at 01:54 PM #2 Posted Monday at 01:54 PM Given Stalin's pervasive and well documented paranoia about US forces mixing with Soviet forces, especially Soviet forces experiencing western cultures, this seems unlikely they ever came to the US. Even Soviet pilots weren't allowed to train in the US. They could only step onto a field in Fairbanks to transfer lend lease planes back to the Soviet Union. I can imagine Soviet women operating field pieces and training on them, and maybe there was one or two US tech personnel who were allowed to accompany lend-lease material for training and demonstration. But still rare.
