Hello and greetings. I found this Civil War or "Battle of 1812" button and was wondering if you could help me identify it by chance? Thank you in advance!

Given the raised shield and straight neck on the eagle appears to be an Indian War (post 1875) US General Service button.

Albert's button book, "Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons " identifies it as GI 98 General Service, spread eagle with raised lined shield, 1875-1902".
