HaerrHistory Posted April 9, 2025 #1 Posted April 9, 2025 I have this cap that sits flat when sitting on my display shelf. Are there any know remedies to fix this. First pic is how it sits and second is how I want it to sit.
Marshallj Posted April 9, 2025 #2 Posted April 9, 2025 Have you tried placing it on a mannequin head?
Brian Dentino Posted April 9, 2025 #3 Posted April 9, 2025 I use old rags/dish towels/etc. (obviously clean) and just shove them up in the visor body to allow it to keep its shape. Do that on my visors that sit on torso mannequins I use for display as well as shown. Yes, I am cheap!
srossio Posted May 14, 2025 #4 Posted May 14, 2025 Acid free tissue paper works great and I have used it numerous times. It can be found on-line at archival suppliers like Gaylord Brothers or at your local craft shops. Just make sure it is acid free and not "regular." You also never want to use colored tissue paper as it is not acid free and has the distince possibility of bleeding. I have also used unbleached muslin bought at the local fabric store. It is thicker so a little bit harder to work with. Steve
BMO Posted September 24, 2025 #5 Posted September 24, 2025 You can use polyester batting, it’s what they use for padding for archival hangers. So it’s non-reactive and gives the thickness you need to perk your hat up.
