Austin_Militaria Posted April 6 #1 Posted April 6 Not sure who made this EGA? The globe is a little flat looking and not as domed as usual EGA'S are. Has an unusual screw post. No maker marks, only circles made of dots on the back. Only the screw post is magnetic, could be sterling. About 1.5" tall.
Steve Brannan Posted April 6 #3 Posted April 6 Looks like the WW2 potmetal EGAs when brass was a strategic metal. They were unpopular and trashed as soon as better quality insignia was available.
Brig Posted May 2 #4 Posted May 2 Econo-lead, found on a myriad of cards without specifying maker names. I don't think firms particularly wanted their brand associated with such a shoddy product, even though they had little choice but to produce them to make demand. Easily broken and quickly discarded when the Marine could find a suitable bronze replacement.
JohnK83882 Posted May 2 #5 Posted May 2 That type of nut on the back seems like a strictly WW2 device.
