usmc1981 Posted March 29, 2025 #1 Posted March 29, 2025 Cape Gloucester Tab, tough to find used, uniform removed from Sgt. Paul Leroy Clark 5th BN, 11th Marines, 1st MarDiv, from his family in PA. After Cape Gloucester, he served as a Guard in San Deigo, most likely where he purchased this tab prior to Okinawa. 5/11 landed with the 5th Marines 30 Dec 43, set up halfway between YELLOW Beach 1 and the airdrome and later moved to the airdrome where it remained. 5 Battalion, 11th Marines Cape Gloucester, evacuated 3rd Amphibious Truck Co, 1st Division Okinawa. 1st Tank Battalion Korean War Pusan, Naktong Bulge, Inchon, Seoul, Wonsan, Chosin Reservoir and withdrawal. PAUL CLARK Obituary CLARK, PAUL LEROY Paul Leroy Clark, 90, of Santee, CA, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2010. Mr. Clark served in the Armed Forces from 1938 to 1953. His service history includes a tour to the Philippines in 1938, a member of the Presidential Guard in 1941, World War II in 1942, and a tour to Korea 1950 to 1953. Paul was a 50-year member of the Al Bahr Shrine Silver Gate Lodge, President of the Al Bahr Shrine Patrol, and President of the Masonic Hi-12 club. He also raised and raced thoroughbred horses for 25 years. Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years Martha Clark, his daughter Leoranne Gall of Hadley, Pennsylvania, sons: Randy Bills of Greenwood, Indiana, Jim Durbin of Escondido, CA, and Rick Nichols of Lakeside, CA, and his brother Jack Clark of Greenville, Pennsylvania, as well as many other family and dear friends. Services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on January 7th at 1:00 in the Salli Lynn Chapel. Reception will follow at the Scottish Rite Center.
