cerick1450 Posted March 23, 2025 #1 Posted March 23, 2025 Hello I recently Picked up these collar tabs from a soldier that was stationed at Reykjavík Iceland during WW2. The collar tabs were in his ww2 items. Do these appear to be WW2 era? Also I assume there were US Intelligence staff stationed there during the war. Thank you
268th C.A. Posted March 23, 2025 #2 Posted March 23, 2025 if I'm not mistaken, I believe these came in right around the wars end. someone chime in here....
KurtA Posted March 23, 2025 #3 Posted March 23, 2025 This design was introduced in the 20’s. Initially they were larger and the Sphinx faced different directions. These smaller sized insignia came about in the mid 30’s. The starburst reverse is indicative of 1930’s/very early 1940’s manufacture. So yes, these no doubt could have been worn in WW2.
