Been watching the recent escalation of "value"? in the O2 mask category with regards to sales and

specifically if it happens to include a Navy oxygen regulator of which there are numerous models.

We have replica Anvis9 goggles, mounts and batt. boxes, and replica comms amp for the MBU14.

Interesting that a replica like the very simple and more prevalent "Litton" CRU-79p 29267-A1 regulator model

(most responsible for tipping the scale) has not yet been offered to facilitate making a complete MBU14 "replica" mask rig.

I stand to be corrected on this, but I think a solid (resin or otherwise) casting of the regulator body would easily support the AN elbow

fitting for the HP hose and make a great (and affordable)  plastic display copy of this so highly sought after element of a US Navy

oxygen mask.

Maybe not...your thoughts?

It might be worth while endeavor. I have replicated various parts in resin for helmets. 3D printing could make this possible, but would it be profitable?

MS22001 0xygen masks sell for (todays listings) 630.00 (current bid) and a BIN for 865.00.

Both currently listed masks have Robertshaw 226 series regs and HP hose attached.

Im thinking the cost of making and selling a resin (or 3D) reg.would fall way short of that number.

We've seen countless authentic surplus CRU-79p regulators go upwards of +- 500.00 alone

How many MS22001s and MBU 12s are in private hands wishing for that Navy upgrade?

Sounds like a potential "fair" market for someone (with the ability) willing to explore it.

Profitable? would depend on the product quality and would fall into place

at least (how many collectors are out there?) long enough to make a run or two to cover

the demand, and yes...I'd probably buy half a dozen for masks I have, that are waiting for oxygen!! LOL

Excellent idea.  May consider the Firewel F1732; Bendix C1; Robertshaw Type 1 (as mentioned above); Clifton Precision CRU-79/P; and larger chest mounted regulators such as the CRU-103/P and CRU-88/P.
