US82Bravo Posted March 13, 2025 #1 Posted March 13, 2025 Virginia McCoy Britt Shortly after Pearl Harbor, to help with the War effort she joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1942, but was not called into active duty until January, 1943. When the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps became part of the U. S. Army during World War II, she re-enlisted, and was in the military service for three years. She was discharged from the Army in January, 1946, I had the privilege of meeting and talking with this lady many times. Each time we met, she would share memories of her military service with great enthusiasm and would show me many of her momentoes. She died on February 28, 2025. She was 103 years old. Good-bye Virginia, thank you for being my friend. You will not be forgotten. Larry
