How much gear did they carry going up Currahee?

Hi! A friend of mine is planning on doing some sort of march up Currahee that will help raise money for charity. They'd like to carry the same weight that the men would have carried when marching up with all of their gear. Can anyone tell me approximately how much weight this would be? Many thanks.

Helmet almost 3.25 lbs

Rifle 9.5 lbs

Half gallon of water  4.25 lbs

Plus canteens web belt ammo pouches 5-7 ponds or more. Shovel Bayonet Ruck sack

more pounds.........?

WW2 Boots Pair 9 lbs

Plus a couple pounds clothing.

.Maybe 35-40 lbs ?

Of course I was not there, but according to the movie, some made the run in full gear. Minus ammo and explosives.
