Good day everyone, hope you will enjoy my last acquisition. I was able to get this fabolous full set of Brigadier General Cortlandt Parker.

Cortlandt Parker was born on 10 December 1884, the son of Major General James Parker [Honoree Record ID 320374], a Medal of Honor recipient for actions during the Philippine-American War in 1899. From 1917-18, Parker served in France during World War I. Before World War II, Cortlandt Parker served as a Military Attaché to Great Britain (1931-1935) and was commander of the 8th Field Artillery Regiment, and then the 19th Field Artillery Regiment. As a Major General in the U.S. Army during World War II, he commanded the 5th Infantry Division (known as the "Red Diamond" Division) from August 1941 to June 1943. From 1943-46 he served as Commanding General of the Southern California Sector in the Western Defense Command before retiring from the military.

The Jacket and trousers weere tailored by "Christenson 286 FIFTH AVE NEW YORK," named to "Cortlandt Parker", visor made by "The SPARTAN.", and his special evening dress coat made in 1903 but re-used later from 1937 to the end of his service. I noticed the small us army button on the left shoulder typically used to mount the fourraggere and, even if I was not lucky enough in buy the complete medal set of this general, I saw he used the french ww1 croix de guerre aiguillette on his uniform.

Maybe was part of the lot, together with the blue dress of BG Cortlandt Parker. In the lot there was a m1912 blue dress, I don't know if it's named to James Cortlandt (his father). As soon as I receive it as soon I will know!

An Important auction. The father, General James Parker, along with receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor was involved in many campaigns of the Indian wars including the capture of Geronimo. His US marked Colt Single Action Army revolver that he carried for much of the Indian Wars and Philippine Insurrection was also present. I was successful in winning his M1902 11th Cavalry Dress Coat. His generals dress uniforms went very reasonable as well as his sword and dress helmet. He wrote an important biography on his life in the Army of which the original typed and annotated manuscript was present. This was probably one of the most important Indian War Philippine Insurrection officers' groupings that have ever came to auction. What I especially liked was nearly every uniform piece of BG James Parker includes an original period photograph of him wearing the article.  Wish I had been a little better prepared for it. I thought the prices were very fair for such an important character in the Cavalry and the frontier. BG Cortlandt Parker's uniform group that included the footlocker was the real bargain, though I cringe at what shipping would have cost. $100 to ship my coat to Colorado, however I am stoked to get anything from General "Galloping" Jim Parker.

Mario, thank you. I was surprised. Personally, I thought everything sold for a bargain. I am betting the Colt pistol and the Gen J. Parkers M1912 uniforms end up in a specialized firearm auction in the future.  I don't know if the CMH or West Point Museum was a player or not but wow, a Philippine Insurrection CMOH recipient! The medal grouping was fantastic, and I wonder where the Medal of Honor ended up. Looks like it sat in the same frame as the rest of them. How would you like to walk into that auction in person?

Wow!  Thanks for sharing with the group.  Wonderful grouping!

It's one of my favorite general officer dress I own in collection, stunning story behind him and his father.

I am still looking around for aany photo of him in blue dress to complete the circle.

Any help will be truly appreciated.

Thanks all in advance
