jumpship Posted April 7 #3 Posted April 7 His BSM citation shows him as being assigned to the 17th Cavalry Recn Squadron (Mech) in France during Aug 44: Source: NARA The 15th Cavalry Regiment (Mech), as shown above in the morning reports, was disbanded during Mar 44 in England and split up to become HHT 15th Cavalry Group (Mech), and the 15th and 17th Recn Squadrons. The 17th Recn Squadron (Mech) was attached to the 15th Cavalry Group (Mech). There was a 113th Cavalry Group (Mech) in the ETO with the 113th and 125th Cavalry Recn Squadrons attached.
