Hi everyone! Is this a U.S. navy or merchant marine jumper from ww1?

Neither, not a uniform. Some made up thing. Denim jumpers had round collars with patch pockets set into the skirt. Additionally, the commercial tag in the collar says, “Costume”.

It looks like a weird period piece that could have been a commercial offering to sea going guys??
