FTLewisBrat Posted February 20, 2025 #1 Posted February 20, 2025 Found this today at an antique mall for the princely sum of $3. Anyone have any idea what it might be? Brass hook, webbing is about 5' long total. Slide loop is sewn tight enough that the hook will not pass through. Rick
GUDMAR1975 Posted February 20, 2025 #2 Posted February 20, 2025 Pistol lanyard possibly. I have one like it.

I seached USMC and found this post from Fausto from 15 years ago... the one I have is in post 5 on his thread.
QED4 Posted February 21, 2025 #5 Posted February 21, 2025 These may have used on other things also but I have never seen them on anything other than a navy flare gun. The Mark 5 pistol with holster and belt with loops to hold flares, this was the lanyard for the rig.

I think there were a few theories out there... pistols, flares guns, dog leashes, etc. I looked through this thread, seems to be good background on all of them. At the end of the day, the only "in use" picture posted was on a pistol.
