Kilroy56 Posted February 4, 2025 #1 Posted February 4, 2025 Dear Forum, These were recently acquired. WWII era , post war manufacture ? Thoughts welcome ! Thank you, Dominique
pfrost Posted February 4, 2025 #2 Posted February 4, 2025 It's hard to know for sure, as I believe this was a very common wing that was likely used from late WWII well into the Cold War period. I have an autobiographical wing from a guy who enlisted in the USAF post-KW. But I also have this same cliched pattern for the service pilot rating. I think it could go into any vintage you wanted to assign to it, without much room for quibbling. As an aircrewman's wing, its not very valuable. Nor is it all that rare. Its one of those type of wings that you cannot screw up on. Woo Woo! Nice wing though. I always enjoy this type of cliche stamping. P
