John Sr. Posted February 3, 2025 #1 Posted February 3, 2025 I may have a chance to get Mr. M.H. Coles books 2 & 3 for under $80 each. I have never gotten to see these books. Are they worth this price? Thanks for the help. John
mikedon Posted February 3, 2025 #2 Posted February 3, 2025 Book III is for sure. I have all four and I think Book III and Book IV are the best. My Book III has been well used.

mikedon Posted February 3, 2025 #4 Posted February 3, 2025 Bill Walters Books I and II are probably the best WWII knife reference books out there now.
Choctaw Dan Posted February 3, 2025 #5 Posted February 3, 2025 Cole's Book III is well worth it. Mine is kind of worn from all the use over the last couple of decades.

sactroop Posted February 3, 2025 #8 Posted February 3, 2025 As I understand it, books III, and IV are the ones to get. I've been told that the information in Vol.s, I&2 are repeated there. Finding both III, & IV is getting harder. For me I want such for the reference and not the collectability, so the chance of finding one at a reasonable price is a little better. Still on the snipe hunt for Vol. IV.

I am looking for the same thing. I use the books for reference purposes. Thank you sir
SKIPH Posted February 3, 2025 #10 Posted February 3, 2025 John Sr.-Agree with all! Bought Coles Book III in 1981, about 12 years ago bought book IV have used them ever since. I also have both Bill Walter's books which are eye popping with color photos, which Cole only made great line drawn pics. I recommend all four books. SKIP

268th C.A. Posted February 3, 2025 #16 Posted February 3, 2025 We have all made that mistake, it's a hard lesson learned. I have over 100 reference books. it's good to know before you go. They will pay for themselves. Good luck collecting! I look at them to educate myself a lot
