easty Posted March 18 #2 Posted March 18 I have a couple of patches from b50 squadrons flying from japan in the Korean war. Both are Ace novelty and extremely well made and highly detailed . Yours to me looks like a reproduction . As far as I know the patch for that period never had a bottom tab,

My point was that no B-50s were engaged in combat in Korea (or anywhere else). Your statement seemed to imply that they were flying combat missions from Japan. My mistake. Thanks for the good back and forth!
ocsfollowme Posted March 18 #6 Posted March 18 I saw the initial auction that you made the purchase from. https://www.ebay.com/itm/375944948616 Was not part of any grouping and it came with random medals "from an estate sale." Seller does not dabble in militaria. Hard to tell and would have to find other period examples to feel comfortable with it.

Don't like that very soft twill obverse and the bright yellow/white thread with that strange buckram backing on the reverse. Seller knows a thing about patches. He had a closed listing for a maroon beret with an 82nd Airborne patch on it. He used the terms "tab" and "cut edge" when describing the 82nd patch. So, it's not coming from some unknowing non-militaria dealer "pure source." I see it "closed" at 99 cents. Somebody must have taken the bait and made an ill-advised too high offer thinking he was getting a really good patch.
