Good day all. I'm in the very early stages of assembling a mannequin for a WW2 U.S. army field medic. I'm wondering if anyone has a good reference for the basic equipment issued to a field medic specifically a medic attached to the infantry. I've recently secured one of the difficult to acquire items in the yoke for the pouch set. I'm still on the hunt for the pouches and accessories that complete that set though. As pictured, I have a pistol belt and a carlisle pouch ready to go. I know that each enlisted man or likewise was issued one canteen but pictures of the period and sources say that some medics often carried 2 canteens using the additional for the men they were treating. I do understand that this topic may warrant a broad answer but any help in establishing a basic setup would be appreciated.

Looks like you are off to a good start with the yoke! That's the last part of the set that has eluded me.

I think you will find this site a great reference: https://www.med-dept.com/articles/medical-kits-contents-kits-of-medical-personnel/

I wouldn't get hung up on the necessity of a second canteen.  Best to review period photos and model your display on what seems typical for the context you want to represent or even a specific photo.  Plenty of photos show Medical Department personnel wearing the full set of equipment with both pouches, yoke, and only one canteen in Europe.
