gerard Posted January 17 #1 Posted January 17 Good evening everyone, A short post dedicated to the American cemetery in Épinal where 5,253 American soldiers rest. The monument was inaugurated on July 23, 1956 and is located in the town of Dinozé (a few kilometers from Épinal), in the Vosges. Today it covers an area of almost twenty hectares. This place will not be unknown to some of you..
AndyLosik Posted February 14 #2 Posted February 14 As a group of American families in Sélestat for the 80th anniversary of its liberation, we made the trip through the Vosges on Saturday to Epinal. It is absolutely stunning. Even more stunning was making the trip with Jocelyne Papelard-Brescia. She is in charge of the grave adoptions made by French citizens who care for the memorials of of our fallen soldiers. Jocelyne has an incredible knowledge of who many of the soldiers were and told us several historic tales of their valor.
