Djohns556 Posted January 14, 2025 #1 Posted January 14, 2025 Hello everyone. My names David. I'm new here and looking forward to learning new stuff on this forum. I recently picked up a neat piece of history. I picked up a captured WW2 nazi flag signed by various US troops. I'm still doing research on all of the names but so far the ones I've uncovered are: Albert A Cascio. 90th infantry division George Bussell. 712th armored division company A James E Taylor. 10th infantry regiment, 5th Infantry Division. George Abdella. 71st infantry division, 66th infantry regiment. William Welsh. 208th Engineer combat battalion. Franklin Snodgrass. TEC5 221 General Hospital. the one thing all these troops have in common is their service in battle of bulge. Flag is labeled 1945. James E Taylor signed this flag and on January 8th 1945 passed away.
Marshallj Posted January 14, 2025 #2 Posted January 14, 2025 Very nice flag. An interesting aspect of the flag is that they were all from different units. So the question is where were they at the same time? Hospital? Aid station? Training? Here is a picture of Sgt. Abdella. 1747. '11 Oct 44. Paik. S/Sgt George Abdella, Co 'E', 2d Bn, 66th Reg 71st Div drmonstrates how to fire the rifle grenade from the kneeling position. 168-L-44-16531.' Bigg_B Posted September 21, 2025 #6 Posted September 21, 2025 If you could upload more detailed photos of the names it would be very much appreciated.

What kinda detail are you looking for? Are the names not able to be read in the other ones? Happy to post more, just let me know what you're looking for.
love4history Posted September 21, 2025 #8 Posted September 21, 2025 Dated 1945 and one of the men was KIA Jan 8th 1945. A New Years´ celebration memento comes to mind? And that could very well have been in a Hospital as suggested before? I find Pte. James E. Taylor as DOW on the internet so that strengthens the theory.
Bigg_B Posted October 24, 2025 #9 Posted October 24, 2025 This is the part i was curious if you could get a clearer picture of. I am trying to make out the name. My apologies for the late response.
