Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any of my grandfathers military stuff... medals, ribbons, uniform etc.  Sometime around 1999'ish my grandmother moved up from Florida to live with us.  When we offered to go down and help her pack everything, she said she had already donated it all and just had her suitcase!  She gave away an entire footlocker that God only knows what was in it. She gave away his uniform(s) and the framed flag from his funeral.  I was upset at the time, but now that I'm older I'm downright heart broken.

She was living in Orlando, FL and I'm not sure if she was still in her home in College Park, or if she gave it away later when she lived in an apartment in Winter Park.

He retired April 30, 1957 with a total active service of 30 years, 9 months, and 12 days. He served 3 years overseas during WWII with the 5th Army Air Force, 49th Fighter Group, and after the war was with the 9th Air Force 31st Fighter & Bomb Wing at Patrick AFB JLRPG in Cocoa and later at Orlando AFB Air Photo & Charting Svc.

I've learned a lot more about him over the past several months. His unit was the 7th fighter squadron screamin demons. He was in photo reconnaissance both taking the photos and interpreting them afterwards. Still looking for anyone who knows anything about him or the whereabouts of any of his gear.
