I am not sure if I had seen this plow patch by itself with no context that I would have given it a second look. However, since it was together with these Navy training squadron patches I am wondering if it is an early Plowback patch? Any ideas? Additionally can anyone by chance ID the Saufley and blue and yellow swirl patches? I looked though the posted thread of Navy training squadron patches but didn't see either of these posted.

USN 'Plowback' patch, circa 1968-1970.  There used to be one of these depicted on the Skyhawk Association website in the VT section

NAS Saufley Field is located in Escambia County on the Florida panhandle, approximately 5 miles northwest of Pensacola NAS

The other one we're still looking for a positive ID -->> 1960s/70s Navy Patch?

Johnny Signor has it as Basic Training Group 3 N, Squadron 4, Whiting Field, Florida

Thank you once again SS. Although I did not pick these up in the Pensacola area, I am only about 3 hours from Pensacola and make the drive there 4-5 times a year.  I didn't know if the Saufley patch was just a generic patch for the field/base itself or if it was specific to a certain training squadron.

Not sure, but I was told that the Saufley patch was for BTG-1 stationed at Saufley Field in the 50's.  Afterall NAAS and NAS Saufley had a triangular patch.  - Jeff

Thank you, Jeff, for the extra information. I think BTG-2 was at Corry Field and several of the VT Squadron's patches from there actually have the location, Corry Field, on the patch so I had wondered if that might be the same case with this one.
