Was the M1A2 also a WWII model?

And any thoughts on this one? The spelling of "Torpedoe" and the off-angle "A" make me dubious

The nose cap is wrong. I'm sure the whole thing it a fake with the exception of the coupler sleeve and fuse lighter.

Robin, thanks; I’ve had the same thought.

The whole thing is fake, there was an auction that had that in it, all the items were restored, mismarked, or replicas.

K, do you happen to recall the name of the auction house?

Thanks,    Z

Thanks on that;  the Bangalore did not appear when I searched the auction catalog.

It should be in that auction. I didn't look yet, but that was the auction with all the stuff from the same guy that owned the Bangalore

I just looked, it is not listed for some reason but I think it was in-between lot 500-508, multiple lots are missing from the auction. There was a M16 mine as well that got a crazy price as well.

the lot passed back in the summer.

Same one again listed in current auction.

Probably being resold because it is fake, it has been resold a few times now. It was listed as sold in the auction, then later listed as passed, later it was offered by IMA and it sold within a week or 2. Most of the ordnance items came from a kid that bought them from an estate of some guy who restored/made/faked the items. It was kind of a shinola show. Most of us collectors stayed clear of the stuff, another guy I know didn't get the memo and got burned on one of the items.

Auction house claims it was "re-stenciled;"  but by who?

It's a replica, what's it matter? An old guy from Michigan who did a displays at shows made it. I knew the kid that bought the stuff from his family when he died. Most of the stuff was either fake/replica or badly and incorrectly restored. Look at the original auction, the ordnance and related items you can all tell it was done by the same person because of the paint, colors, stencils etc used.
